1. The short version
Big Stakes is general information and commentary. It is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it doesn’t consider your personal circumstances. Do your own research and speak to a licensed professional before making decisions.
2. General information only
The Big Stakes podcast, videos, website, blog, newsletter and social posts (the “Content”) are for general information, education and entertainment. The Content doesn’t take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs.
Before acting on anything in the Content, consider whether it’s appropriate for you, read any relevant product disclosure statement or offer document, and get advice from a qualified, licensed professional.
3. Not financial product advice
Nothing in the Content is financial product advice under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), or investment advice anywhere else. Mentions of companies, funds, tokens, deals, valuations or assets are for discussion only. They are not recommendations or offers to buy, sell or hold anything.
Big Stakes and its hosts do not hold an Australian financial services licence and are not acting as your financial adviser, broker or fiduciary.
4. Not legal, tax or other professional advice
Discussion of contracts, regulation, tax, employment or technology is general in nature. It isn’t legal, tax, accounting, engineering or other professional advice, and listening doesn’t create any professional relationship with us.
5. Investing and business involve risk
Investments, startups and new technologies can lose value, fail or behave in ways nobody expects. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Any forecasts, predictions or scenarios we discuss are opinions about an uncertain future, and may be wrong.
6. Opinions are our own
Views in the Content belong to the person expressing them. Guests’ views are their own and aren’t necessarily shared by the hosts. Hosts speak for themselves, not for any employer, client, investor or organisation they’re involved with.
7. Conflicts and interests
Hosts and guests may own, advise, invest in or work with companies and assets discussed on the show. We disclose material interests we’re aware of in the episode or on its page. Paid partnerships are always labelled, and sponsors never control our editorial.
8. Accuracy and corrections
We research carefully, but the Content may contain mistakes or become out of date, and conversations are recorded in real time. We don’t warrant that it’s accurate or complete. When we get something wrong, we say so on the episode page under “What we got wrong”.
9. Third-party information and links
We refer to reports, filings, articles and other people’s data. We don’t control or verify all of it, and a mention or link isn’t an endorsement.
10. Your responsibility
You’re responsible for your own decisions. To the extent the law allows, Big Stakes, its hosts and guests aren’t liable for any loss arising from reliance on the Content. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. See our terms of use for more.
